Arnold & Porter attorney Rob Weiner recently represented the former director of Israel’s General Security Service and won, defending the former director against plaintiffs allegedly injured in a 2002 Israeli bombing of a Gaza building. At Mr. Weiner’s urging, the Second Circuit Court dismissed the case. The U.S. State Department had been urging the same thing.
The dismissal was Mr. Weiner’s fifth such win on behalf of Israel, which he originally represented in Doe v. Israel, in which plaintiffs sought to litigate the country’s West Bank behavior. Mr. Weiner formerly served as president of the D.C. Bar Association, and is a member of the American Bar Association’s Board of Governors.
