The Ivy Look

In February of 1981, Men’s Club magazine published an issue titled “The Ivy Special ’81,” which included a photo essay called “Yale vs. Dartmouth.” In it, the magazine documented classic 1970’s collegiate style at the two schools: Sperry Topsiders, two-button blue blazers, tweed jackets, button-down collars, red pants, L.L. Bean duck boots, and rain slickers. The magazine labelled J.Press Yale’s representative shop, and Orvis Dartmouth’s. A sample of the pictures, below.
